Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a liquid crystal display element sealant which can suppress light leakage even when used in a large-sized liquid crystal display element, and is excellent in transparency of a cured product thereof and adhesiveness to an alignment film. The purpose of the present invention is also to provide a liquid crystal display element obtained using the liquid crystal display element sealant. The present invention relates to a liquid crystal display element sealant containing a curable resin, a photopolymerization initiator, and a heat curing agent, wherein, when D1 represents a displacement amount from a glass substrate at a time when, after the uncured liquid crystal display element sealant was applied to the glass substrate, compressed for 60 seconds with a force of 1000 mN/min in a thickness direction, and decompressed, force has become 0 mN, and D2 represents a displacement amount from the glass substrate two minutes after the measurement of D1, a recovery rate obtained by expressing D2/D1 in percentage is 110% or less, and the cure shrinkage rate during curing is 5.0% or less.
