Title:
LIQUID INJECTION DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2003/069153
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A liquid injection device (10) includes an injection unit (15) having a piezoelectric/electrostrictive element, an electromagnetic delivery valve (14) for delivering pressurized fuel to the injection unit, and an electric control device (30). The electric control device generates an electromagnetic valve opening/closing signal according to the engine operation state and transmits it to the electromagnetic delivery valve. Thus, pressurized liquid fuel is supplied from the electromagnetic delivery valve to the injection unit. The electric control device operates the piezoelectric/electrostrictive element when the liquid pressure in the injection unit is increase or decreased due to at least generation or stop of generation of the electromagnetic opening/closing signal, so that the injected fuel is made into fine particles. On the other hand, when the electromagnetic opening/closing signal has disappeared and the liquid pressure in the injection unit is at a low constant pressure, the piezoelectric/electrostrictive element is not operated, thereby suppressing power consumption.
