Abstract:
The present invention relates to: liver organoids; a high-speed and mass production method therefor; a method for screening for drugs for liver-associated diseases; a method for in vitro toxicity screening of drugs; and the like. According to the production method, liver organoids can be mass-produced at high speed by undergoing a continuous 3-dimensional differentiation process in the same microwell plate, and the mass-produced liver organoids produced through the production method can be stably proliferated in vitro while having levels of cell composition, structure and functionality similar to those of actual liver tissues such as liver cells (a solid core part), cholangiocytes (a cystic part), hepatic stellate cells, and Kupffer cells. In addition, a method for in vitro toxicity screening by using liver organoids, of the present invention, allows drugs, which can be hepatotoxic, to be screened in advance, and thus can reduce the time and cost of new drug development and improve the efficiency thereof.
