Abstract:
Provided are a localization method and device, which relate to the field of localization and navigation and are used to solve the problem that vSLAM cannot realize localization and navigation due to the influence of the viewing angle and illumination. The localization method comprises: creating a plurality of visual simultaneous localization and mapping (vSLAM) processes, and respectively loading a corresponding map database for each vSLAM process (S101); invoking each vSLAM process to perform localization based on a real-time image (S102); and performing localization according to a localization result obtained by each vSLAM process successfully performing localization (S103). The localization method and device can be applied to localization or navigation of devices such as robots and self-driving cars.
