Abstract:
Provided is a lubricant composition that exhibits superior start-up performance and low viscosity at a low shear rate, and superior oil-film-forming capability and high viscosity at a high shear rate. The lubricant composition is characterized by: containing a lubricant-oil base oil, a hydrocarbon polymer exhibiting a viscosity-average molecular weight of 10,000-100,000, and a carboxylic acid metal salt; exhibiting a viscosity (A) of equal to or less than 10Pa/s at a low shear rate (50s-1), and a viscosity (B) of equal to or greater than 0.5Pa/s at a high shear rate (4000s-1); and exhibiting a viscosity (A) and viscosity (B) ratio (viscosity (A)/viscosity(B)) of equal to or less than 15.
