Abstract:

A low-viscosity lubricating oil for a manual transmission, which can simultaneously satisfy excellent shifting fork baking preventive properties and transmission properties despite the low viscosity and can realize fuel saving of automobiles, is provided. The lubricating oil composition for a manual transmission comprises a base oil, for a lubricating oil, having a kinematic viscosity of 4 to 6 mm²/sec at 100°C and, incorporated into the base oil based on the total amount of the composition, (A) 0.14 to 0.20% by mass, in terms of magnesium element, of magnesium sulfonate, (B) 0.14 to 0.18% by mass, in terms of zinc element, of a specific zinc dithiophosphate, (C) 0.3 to 0.5% by mass, in terms of sulfur element, of a sulfur-containing compound, and (D) 0.02 to 0.05% by mass, in terms of phosphorus element, of an alkyl phosphite. The lubricating oil composition has a kinematic viscosity of 25 to 30 mm²/sec at 40°C.
