Abstract:
A luminescent organic compound is disclosed which has good electrochemical stability, chemical stability, and thermal stability. Also disclosed is a material exhibiting blue light emission with high color purity. The luminescent organic compound is represented by the general formula (1) below. In the formula, X1 represents a silyl group wherein one or more aryl groups having 5-10 carbon atoms are bonded to a silicon or an alkyl group having 1-4 carbon atoms; Ar1 represents a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group having 5-15 carbon atoms; and Ar2 represents an aryl group having 5-20 carbon atoms which may have a substituent at a position different from where it is bonded with Ar1.
