Title:
MAGNETIC CLOSURE FOR CLOTHING AND HOUSEHOLD LINEN
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2023/062399
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The magnetic closure for clothing and household linen consists of a central containment body (1) in where magnets (2) are housed with identical orienting of their faces and of an outside containment body (3) with other magnets (4) with opposite polarity compared to the polarity of the magnets (2) housed in the central containment body (1). During the use the outside containment body (3) comes to contain at its inside the central containment body (1) with magnetic attraction of the parts with opposite polarity.

Description:
“Magnetic closure for clothing and household linen”.

Field of the invention.

The invention refers to a new lock, to be applied to clothing and household linen, consisting of magnets, particularly arranged for sealing when closed and to resist to washing without creating damages to the cloth and/or to the washing machine.

State of the art.

In the art different documents are known in where are described automatic closures arranged by magnets, as for example the documents WO201 3/130022, CN204635112, JP201 7504456 and JPH1 1269713, wherein couple of magnets are interfaced with reverse polarity to have closures due to magnetic forces. These closures, however, have not a high seal and lead to unwanted openings. Further, said magnetic closures have problems in washing phase, such as said magnets damage the clothing fabrics and the household linen in where they are inserted. The known realizations then lose their effectiveness in the magnetic closure due the formation of rust. It is then known the document CN101313791 wherein a system of closing with magnets is described arranged with a s plastic layer to avoid damages to the clothes and to the magnets, but this plastic layer is damaged with washing at high temperatures.

Summary of the invention. Object of the invention is a closing system that use magnets able to deal with washings at any temperature and to not damage the fabrics in which are inserted. Said closing system is then able to have a strong hold on the parts in which is applied, sot to avoid openings sudden and unexpected. The magnetic closure for clothing and for household linen comprises a central containment body in where are inserted natural magnets with identical orientation of the faces of the magnets and an outside containment body with magnets at opposite polarity in comparison with the polarity of the faces of the magnets of the central containment body, wherein the outside containment body closes at its inside the central containment body, with magnetic attraction of the parts with opposite polarity onto the two faces of the central magnets. In this way a pincer closing is arranged of the outside magnets onto the central magnet with the attractive force of the magnets that is doubled. The used magnets were then subjected to a surface process of galvanizing and nickel plating (eighty-five percent zinc and fifteen percent nickel) and the used magnets are preferably neodymium magnets. These and other aims and advantage of present invention will be more evident from the following detailed description of a preferred embodiment but not exclusive with reference to the enclosed drawings wherein the invention is illustrated in a merely indicative way and so not limiting. Brief description of the drawings.

Figure 1 is perspective view of the central containment body into which is applied the outside containment body on fabrics with ribbon magnets. Figure 2 is view of a cap with interchangeable visor connected to the cap by magnets. Figure 3 is view of a polo type shirt with cylindrical neodymium magnets. Figure 4 is view of an attachment for bra closure. Figure 5 is perspective view for closure of a cushion cover. Figure 6 is view of a magnetic closure for curtains.

Detailed description.

The magnetic closure for clothing and household linen consists of a central containment body 1 in where are housed magnets 2 with identical orientation of their faces and of an outside containment body 3 with other magnets 4 with opposite polarity compared to the polarities of the faces of the magnets 2 placed in the central containment body . In using the outside containment body 3 housed in its inside the central containment body 1 with magnetic attraction of the parts with opposite polarity onto the two faces of the central magnets 2. In a realization embodiment the central containment body 1 consists of a flap of fabric folded and sewn, inside which the magnets 2 are housed, while the outside containment body 3 consists of wings of fabric inside which the magnets 4 are housed. With this closure a tear resistance is realized more respect to the known magnetic closures, with advantages in the using that permits a better gripping both into the closing than in the household linen. The magnets 2 and 4 are then treated to prevent the formation of rust, i.e. were subjected to a surface treatment of galvanizing and nickel plating using zinc and nickel respectively in percentage of eighty-five percent of zinc and fifteen percent of nickel. In the different embodiments the magnets used are preferably neodymium magnets. The invention device is possible of different modifications and variations all part of the inventive object. All the technical particulars can then be changed with other equivalent without for that goes out to the protection field given to the claims.
