Abstract:
A magnetic disk fault prediction method and device based on a prediction model. The method comprises: collecting basic information, historical running information, and fault information of a massive quantity of magnetic disks (A1); analyzing the collected basic information, historical running information, and fault information of the massive quantity of magnetic disks, to determine an element strongly related to a magnetic disk fault, and constructing a prediction model based on the determined element strongly related to the magnetic disk fault (A2); and predicting, based on the prediction model, the probability that each running magnetic disk has a fault and the quantity of magnetic disks that have a fault (A3). The magnetic disk fault prediction method and device based on a prediction model can predict the probability that a magnetic disk has a fault and the quantity of magnetic disks that have a fault.
