Abstract:
The present invention makes it possible to uniformly supply a coating liquid to one end surface of a honeycomb structure installed in an intermediate part of a cylindrical body, while making it less likely for the coating liquid to attach to an end part of the cylindrical body. A manufacturing device (1) for an exhaust gas purification catalyst is for forming a catalyst layer on a honeycomb base material (20) having a cylindrical body (21) and a honeycomb structure (22) installed in an intermediate part inside the cylindrical body. The manufacturing device comprises a holder (11) that holds the honeycomb base material upright, and a supply device (13). The supply device includes: a cylinder having, at an upper end thereof, an ejection port that ejects the coating liquid, which cylinder is inserted into an opening part of the cylindrical body located below the honeycomb base and is disposed directly opposite a lower surface of the honeycomb structure; and a piston (132) installed in the cylinder and that enables the coating liquid to be ejected from the ejection port by pushing the coating liquid stored in the cylinder upward. There is a clearance between the upper end of the cylinder and the lower surface of the honeycomb structure.
