Abstract:

A device for manufacturing an absorbent (1k) by compressing a laminate (3), which is obtained by laminating liquid-absorbing materials, in the thickness direction of the laminate (3). The device comprises: a pair of rotating members (41a, 41b) that clamp the laminate (3), which has been fed following the conveyance direction, using the respective outer circumferential surfaces (41as, 41bs) and rotate so as to discharge same in the conveyance direction; and multiple linear projections (42) provided so as to protrude on the outer circumferential surface (41as, 41bs) of at least one of the pair of rotating members (41a, 41b). Of the multiple linear projections (42), projections that are adjacent in the CD direction, which is parallel to the rotation axis of the rotating members (41a, 41b), mark off regions (A42) that are enclosed in the CD direction on the outer circumferential surfaces (41as, 41bs). The marked-off regions (A42) have a tapered subregion (A42pu), the CD direction size of which decreases towards the upstream side of the direction of rotation of the rotating members (41a, 41b). Adjacent projections face each other across a gap (G42) therebetween at the tips of the tapered subregions.
