Abstract:
Provided is a medical manipulator configured so that the insulation breakdown of a cover for covering a joint near a treatment section is prevented without increasing the wall thickness of the cover, thereby preventing an electric current from flowing to portions other than the treatment section.
This medical manipulator (1) comprises: a long section (2) which is configured to include a part consisting of an electrically conductive raw material, is flexible, and can transmit torsional torque; a joint section (3) which is disposed at the front end of the long section (2), has one or more joints (14, 15, 16), and is configured to include a part consisting of an electrically conductive raw material; a treatment section (4) which is mounted to the front end of the joint section (3) and which treats tissue; a cylindrical connection member (6) which consists of an insulating material and which connects the long section (2) and the joint section (3); an electric cable which is passed through the insides of the long section (2), the connection member (6), and the joint section (3) while being electrically insulated against the long member (2) and the joint section (3) and which supplies electric power to the treatment section (4); and a cover which consists of an insulating material and which covers the outer surfaces of the joint section (3) and the long section (2).
