Abstract:
Provided are a medium discharge device, a control method, and a control program that enable highly accurate determination of whether or not an anomaly has occurred in discharging of a medium. This medium discharge device has: a discharge roller for discharging a medium; a tray on which a medium discharged by the discharge roller is to be placed; a first optical sensor including a first light emission part that is disposed above the discharge roller and that emits light to the tray, and a first light reception part that generates a first optical signal corresponding to received light; a second optical sensor including a second light emission part that is disposed above the discharge roller and that emits light downstream of the tray in a medium discharge direction, and a second light reception part that generates a second optical signal corresponding to received light; a determination unit that determines whether or not an anomaly has occurred in discharging of a medium, on the basis of the first and second optical signals; and a control unit that executes an anomaly process when it is determined that an anomaly has occurred in discharging of a medium.
