Abstract:
A data processing unit 60 of this medium recognition device 10 has: a projection generation unit 630 that generates, by luminance projection, a projection of a pixel value with respect to a horizontal axis and a vertical axis of a to-be-processed image; an end-point detection unit 640 that determines both end points in a trapezoidal pattern of a projection waveform for each of the projections projected onto the horizontal and vertical axes; an evaluation value acquisition unit 650 that determines the distance W between both end points in the trapezoidal pattern of the projection waveform with respect to the horizontal axis and the distance H between both end points in the trapezoidal pattern with respect to the vertical axis, and acquires a given evaluation value by means of the resultant data and the width and height of a card 100; and a rotation angle determination unit 660 that determines a rotation angle of the card 100 on the basis of the evaluation value acquired by the evaluation value acquisition unit 650.
