Abstract:
Provided are a medium transport device, a control method, and a control program which enable further shortening of time for transporting a medium while suppressing the occurrence of a medium transportation abnormality. This medium transport device has: a transport mechanism for transporting a medium; a determination unit that determines whether a medium transportation abnormality has occurred; and a control unit that controls the transport mechanism so as to increase the transportation speed of media to be subsequently transported or reduce the transportation interval of the media to be subsequently transported, if a medium transportation abnormality did not occur when a prescribed number of media was transported.
