Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a (meth)acrylic acid copolymer that can, for example, be used suitably as a silica scale inhibitor due to having a superior ability to inhibit silica scale than in the past. The present invention is a (meth)acrylic acid copolymer including structural units derived from a (meth)acrylic acid (salt), structural units derived from a sulfonic-acid-(salt)-group-containing monomer, and structural units derived from an ether-bond-containing monomer, the content ratio of structural units derived from a sulfonic-acid-(salt)-group-containing monomer being 25 mass% or greater relative to 100 mass% of all structural units, and the weight-average molecular weight of the copolymer being 30,000 or greater.
