Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate than a 4G communication system such as LTE. According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, provided is a method for generating a beam book for controlling a beam when a beam transmitted from a base station is reflected by an RIS and transmitted to UE in a wireless communication system. The method may comprise the steps of: receiving information regarding an RIS ID from an RIS control unit (RCU) that is a communication entity that controls an RIS that reflects a beam transmitted from a base station and transmits the reflected beam to user equipment (UE); on the basis of the information regarding the RIS ID, identifying an angle of incidence to the RIS from the base station corresponding to the RIS ID; and determining, on the basis of the identified angle of incidence, information regarding a beam used to scan a preset area, wherein a beam book for RIS control in the RCU may be acquired on the basis of the identified angle of incidence and the determined information regarding the beam.
