Abstract:
Method and apparatus for communicating with passive objects is provided. The method comprises acquiring object information of one or more passive objects; extracting identifying information of each of the one or more passive objects from the object information; updating a mapping table based on the extracted identifying information, the mapping table being used to store the mapping results of identifying information of each of the one or more passive objects and a network address specific to each of the one or more passive objects; and determining, for each of the one or more passive objects, a network interface corresponding to the network address based on the updated mapping table. According to the method and apparatus, the passive objects have their own network addresses and are dynamically assigned network interfaces, thus can connect to the network. Monitoring and management functionality of each passive object in IOT through the Internet may be realized.
