Abstract:
A method and apparatus for detecting a passive inter-modulation fault point, which relate to the technical field of wireless communications. The method comprises: a network device sending a plurality of downlink signals of different frequencies by means of an antenna feed system, and receiving a first signal, wherein the first signal is an uplink PIM signal which is generated by means of excitation by any of at least two downlink signals in the plurality of downlink signals; the network device determining second signals respectively corresponding to a plurality of detection points, wherein the second signal corresponding to any one detection point is an estimated signal for a PIM signal of the any one detection point; and the network device determining a PIM fault point from among the plurality of detection points according to the first signal, and the second signals respectively corresponding to the plurality of detection points. Therefore, a network device itself can detect a PIM fault point in an antenna feed system without needing to rely on a tester or an external device.
