Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a recording medium for encoding/decoding an image by using a geometric partitioning are disclosed. A target block is geometrically partitioned, and a plurality of partitioned areas may be generated by means of the geometric partitioning. Each partitioned area may have a non-square and non-rectangular shape. Different prediction schemes may be applied with respect to the plurality of partitioned areas. The different prediction schemes for the plurality of partitioned areas may be signaled as explicit information, and may be derived by using information such as a coding parameter for the target block.
