Abstract:
The present invention relates to a decoding method, decoding apparatus, encoding method, and encoding apparatus for a video, and provides a method and an apparatus for performing region-based differential image encoding/decoding by using a restored image. According to an encoding method of an embodiment, encoding is performed on an original image to generate a restored low-quality image, and a restored high-quality image is generated using the restored low-quality image. An image is segmented into a plurality of regions and encoding is performed on each of the regions to generate encoded reconstruction information for generation of a reconstructed high-quality image.
