Abstract:
A method and apparatus for a water softening device to determine the hardness of raw water. The method comprises: acquiring a correspondence between geographic areas and the hardness of raw water (110); and determining the target hardness of raw water of a water softening device according to a target geographic area where the water softening device is located and the correspondence (120), wherein the correspondence is obtained by performing hardness measurement on raw water in each geographic area and by associating each geographic area with a raw-water hardness measurement result corresponding to the geographic area.
