Abstract:
Provided are a method for designing a progressive power lens and technology related thereto, wherein the surface shape of the progressive power lens is adjusted so that the difference V between state A and state B approaches the difference W between state C and state D. State A is a state when viewing an object at point O, which is at a finite distance in front of a wearer and on the median plane of the wearer, while wearing the progressive power lens. State B is a state when viewing an object at point P, which is at the same vertical height as point O but at a different position from point O in the horizontal direction in a plane that is parallel to the frontal plane and includes point O, while wearing the progressive power lens. State C is a state when viewing the object at point O while wearing a reference single focus lens corresponding to the progressive power lens or with the naked eye. State D is a state when viewing the object at point P while wearing a reference single focus lens corresponding to the progressive power lens or with the naked eye.
