Abstract:
Disclosed in the present application are a method and a device for determining an intermediate session management function I-SMF, used for solving the problem of a session between a UE and MEC being affected due to a session management function being unable to control user plane function modules. The method of the present application is used on the application function AF side, and comprises: creating request information, the request information comprising mobile edge computing MEC application information, and the request information being used for instructing an access and mobility management function AMF or a session management function SMF when selecting I-SMF to select the I-SMF on the basis of the MEC application information; and sending the request information to a network exposure function NEF or a policy control function PCF. As the method for determining an intermediate session management function I-SMF of the present application creates request information instructing the AMF or SMF to select the I-SMF on the basis of MEC application information, a suitable I-SMF is selected for the MEC, ensuring the continuity of the session between the UE and the MEC.
