Title:
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR RECOVERING MOLTEN-SALT ELECTROLYTE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2018/123482
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a method for recovering a molten-salt electrolyte such as a liquid rare earth metal or an iron alloy thereof accumulated inside an electrolysis tank of a molten-salt electrolysis device in which a molten salt is retained, by drawing up the molten-salt electrolyte using a suction nozzle so that the molten-salt electrolyte is not oxidized, and of providing a device for performing this method. As a solution to the abovementioned problem, this method comprises introducing a non-oxidizing gas into a suction recovery chamber to which a suction nozzle is connected, and immersing the distal end of the suction nozzle in the electrolysis tank in a state in which the introduced non-oxidizing gas is being discharged from the distal end of the suction nozzle, then discontinuing introduction of the non-oxidizing gas into the suction recovery chamber and depressurizing the inside of the suction recovery chamber, and thereby drawing up the liquid molten-salt electrolyte accumulated inside the electrolysis tank using the suction nozzle and recovering the molten-salt electrolyte into the suction recovery chamber. This device is provided with at least a suction recovery chamber and a suction nozzle for performing this method.
