Title:
METHOD FOR EVALUATING THICKNESS AND DENSITY OF ADSORBED METHANE OCCURRING IN PORES CONTRIBUTED BY ORGANIC MATTER, CLAY AND OTHER MINERALS IN SHALE RESERVOIR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2020/119021
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for evaluating the thickness and density of adsorbed methane occurring in pores contributed by organic matter, clay and other minerals in a shale reservoir. The method comprises the steps of: smashing a piece of shale sample, and screening out three or more subsamples with different meshes for experiments of TOC, kerogen element content, whole rock analysis, low-temperature nitrogen adsorption and desorption, and isothermal methane adsorption; calculating the content of organic matter by means of the TOC and the kerogen element content of the subsamples, and normalizing the content of the organic matter, the clay and other minerals; evaluating the volume of pores with various pore diameters in organic matter, clay and other minerals per unit mass according to the content of the organic matter, the clay and other minerals of the subsamples, and a low-temperature nitrogen adsorption and desorption result; evaluating the content of adsorbed methane occurring in the organic matter, clay and other minerals per unit mass according to the content of organic matter, clay and other minerals of the subsamples and a result of the methane isothermal adsorption experiment; and establishing a model to calculate the thickness and density of the adsorbed methane in the pores with different pore diameters contributed by the organic matter, clay and other minerals.
