Abstract:
This method for inspecting visual characteristics comprises: a presentation step in which an inspection image is presented to a subject; and a switching step in which an optical element disposed between the subject and the inspection image is switched among the optical elements in an optical element set including a plurality of optical elements. The inspection image includes a first image area containing a color to which human rod cells are sensitive, and the first image area is positioned so that when the subject views the approximate center of the inspection image, light emitted from the first image area forms an image on an area outside the fovea centralis on the retina of the subject. The optical element set includes a plurality of first optical elements that transmit light in a first wavelength range to which the rod cells are sensitive. An optical element that does not cause the subject to feel dazzled when viewing the inspection image through the optical element is specified.
