Abstract:
A method for manufacturing a water-based black pigment dispersion comprising a step for medialess dispersion of a mixture containing carbon black and an aqueous medium, and after dispersion, a step for adding a basic compound and a resin having an anionic group, the carbon black having a carboxylic acid group on the surface and a value obtained by dividing the amount of carboxylic acid on the surface by the BET value that is 0.8 to 5.5 (μmol/m2), and the resin having the anionic group being a urethane resin that satisfies (weight-average molecular weight/acid value) < 1400 or a styrene acrylic resin that satisfies (weight-average molecular weight/acid value) < 120.
