Abstract:
This invention pertains to a method for manufacturing a crystalline-silicon solar cell provided with the following: a photoelectric conversion unit (50), on a first-principal-surface side of a first-conductivity-type crystalline-silicon substrate (1), that has an opposite-conductivity-type silicon-based layer (3a); and collecting electrodes (7) formed on a first principal surface of said photoelectric conversion unit (50) via an electrolytic plating process. Either the first-principal-surface side of the photoelectric conversion unit (50) or a second-principal-surface side thereof is laser-irradiated so as to form insulated regions (4a) in which short-circuit paths between the first principal surface of the photoelectric conversion unit and the second principal surface thereof are eliminated. Protective layers (5b) for preventing a metal in the collecting electrodes (7) from diffusing into the first-conductivity-type crystalline-silicon substrate are formed on the collecting electrodes (7) and/or the insulated regions (4a). After said protective layers (5b) are formed, the insulated regions (4a) are heated so as to eliminate leaks therein between the first-conductivity-type crystalline-silicon substrate (1) and the opposite-conductivity-type silicon-based layer (3a).
