Abstract:
In this invention, when manufacturing a grain-oriented electromagnetic steel sheet: a steel slab, which contains, by mass%, 0.02 to 0.10% of C, 2.5 to 5.5% of Si, 0.01 to 0.30% of Mn, 0.0010 to 0.040% of S, 0 to 0.040% of Se, 0.010 to 0.040% of sol. Al, and 0.004 to 0.020% of N, is hot-rolled after heated to 1,300˚C or higher, the hot-rolled sheet is annealed as needed, and the steel sheet is cold-rolled to obtain a cold-rolled sheet having a final sheet thickness; primary recrystallization doubling as decarburization annealing is applied to the steel sheet; the steel sheet surface is coated with an annealing separator; and finishing-annealing is applied to the steel sheet; wherein a cracked edge which occurs during the hot-rolling is effectively prevented by setting slab side-surface temperature T at the start of rough rolling during the hot-rolling to temperature Te defined by expression (1) given below or lower and by carrying out width reduction after at least one pass of rough rolling.
