Abstract:
This method for manufacturing a phase difference film having specific optical characteristics includes: a first step for preparing a first film comprising a resin layer (N1) formed by a thermoplastic resin N having a negative intrinsic birefringence; a second step for stretching the first film at least one time to obtain a second film comprising a resin layer (N2), which is a layer in which the resin layer (N1) is stretched; a third step for obtaining a third film by layering, on the second film, a resin layer (P1) formed by a thermoplastic resin P having a positive intrinsic birefringence; and a fourth step for stretching the third film at least one time to obtain the phase difference film comprising a resin layer (N) in which the resin layer (N2) is stretched and which has a slow axis (N), and a resin layer (P) in which the resin layer (P1) is stretched and which has a slow axis (P) forming an angle within a range of 90°±5° with respect to the slow axis (N).
