Abstract:
The present invention provides a soil formation technology that can fix a microbial population not only to the surface portion of a solid carrier but also to the entirety of the solid carrier. The present invention also provides a soil formation technology that does not require a step for washing off, from a solid carrier, nitrate nitrogen generated during soil formation. Provided is a method that is for manufacturing a solid carrier having nitrate generating ability and that is characterized by comprising a step for having all of (B)-(E) to coexist in a solid carrier described in (A), and by manufacturing a solid carrier having fixed thereto a microbial population described in (B). The solid carrier can be used as a culture medium in all plant cultivation methods. Also provided is a soil composition for manufacturing the solid carrier. (A) A solid carrier having air permeability. (B) A microbial population that generates nitrate nitrogen by mineralizing organic matter. (C) Organic matter. (D) Water. (E) A plant body that absorbs nitrate nitrogen.
