The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a spiral coil comprising the steps of: forming a solenoid which has a diameter larger than the length thereof by spirally winding an insulated electric wire; forming a spiral coil having folded edges by folding four edges in the circumference direction with respect to the solenoid; fixing the folded shape of the spiral coil; and fixing both terminal portions to a fixing module, wherein the both terminal portions correspond to the start and end points of the spiral coil. The disclosed method has an advantage of easily manufacturing a thin and long spiral coil, which has folded edges, by using a conventional insulated electric wire. In addition, the spiral coil manufactured by the above-mentioned method is applicable to the use of a surface RF coil optimized for the various applications of an EMAT (Electro-magnetic Acoustic Transducer) and enables easy access to an optimized transducer.
