Abstract:

A method for molding a glass substrate in which the mold surface of a molding die that rotates or rolls and that has conductivity in at least the mold surface thereof is brought into contact with one of the main surfaces of a glass substrate that has a pair of main surfaces and that comprises a glass material containing an alkali metal oxide, and while in a state in which the contact surface of the glass substrate that is in contact with the mold surface is held at a temperature greater than 100 °C and equal to or less than (Tg + 50 °C) (wherein Tg represents the glass transition temperature of the glass material), a high DC voltage is applied to the main surface side of the glass substrate that is opposite from the contact surface side while the molding die is made to rotate or roll, the molding die or the glass substrate is simultaneously made to move in accordance with the rotation or rolling speed of the molding die in a direction parallel to the contact surface of the glass substrate, and the contact surface of the glass substrate is molded.
