Abstract:
Provided is a method for monitoring a ship, the method making it possible to constantly, or for an extended period, monitor the state of blades at low cost during navigation of a ship, and to determine, in real time, the cause of any reduction in the speed of the ship or any other reduction in navigation performance. Specifically, provided is a method for monitoring a ship 10 having a marine propeller 3 for driving the ship 10, the marine propeller 3 having a plurality of blades 5, wherein the method comprises a step S10 for attaching strain sensors 11 to the blades 5 and detecting strain by using the strain sensors 11, the step S10 including sensing the presence of damage on the blades in real time from detection values that are detected by the strain sensors 11 attached to the blades 5.
