Abstract:

A semi-solid slurry and a semi-solid molded product, which can be simply prepared in a short time without limitation of kind and composition of an object metal, is provided. Pouring is carried out so that, upon pouring of a molten metal into a vessel or a sleeve (hereinafter referred to as “vessel or the like”), the metal is brought to a supercooled state without forming an initial solidified layer and self-agitation takes place within the vessel. A molten metal is brought into contact with a cooling vessel or a cooling part from a given height to produce nuclei without forming any initial solidified layer utilizing a supercooling phenomenon, and, subsequently, agitation is carried out to bring the metal to a semi-solid state while eliminating a temperature gradient in the cooling vessel or the cooling part.
