The present application discloses a method for processing an application, and a related apparatus. Instead of relying on the authentication of a developer or a preconfigured application distribution client, feature information and application source information of existing applications are widely used to determine a first application from an installation source having unknown trustworthiness, such that the time and cost required for constructing a trusted application distribution ecology can be reduced. The method comprises: acquiring feature information of a first application, wherein the first application is from an installation source having unknown trustworthiness; and determining a first result according to target feature information of a second application and the feature information of the first application, wherein the target feature information of the second application is used for representing a trustworthy condition of the second application, the first result is used for instructing installation of the first application, or preventing installation of the first application, and the first application is the same as or different from the second application.
