Abstract:
According to the present invention, an alkane compound represented by R1CHX1CHX2R2 (wherein X1 and X2 may be the same or different, and each represents a halogen atom; and R1 and R2 may be the same or different, and each represents an alkyl group or a fluoroalkyl group) is able to be synthesized, in such a manner that (S), (R)-configuration, (R), (R)-configuration and (S), (S)-configuration are produced together with each other, by hydrogenating an alkene compound represented by general formula (2) (wherein X1, X2, R1 and R2 are as defined above or below) by causing the alkene compound to react with a hydrogen-containing gas in the presence of a catalyst and a cycloalkane compound represented by formula (3) (wherein R3, R4, R5, R6, R7, R8, R9 and R10 may be the same or different, and each represents a halogen atom, an alkyl group or a fluoroalkyl group).
