Title:
METHOD FOR PRODUCING DIALKYL POLYSULFIDE, DIALKYL POLYSULFIDE, EXTREME-PRESSURE ADDITIVE AND LUBRICATING FLUID COMPOSITION
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2015/046008
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The purpose of the invention is to provide a production method capable of producing dialkyl polysulfide, which can be used suitably as an extreme-pressure additive that also makes metal surfaces resist corrosion, efficiently and an extreme-pressure additive and lubricating fluid composition containing dialkyl polysulfide obtained by this production method. Provided is a method for producing dialkyl polysulfide including: a first step for obtaining crude dialkyl polysulfide (A) by reacting an olefin compound (a) represented by general formula (1) R1R2C=CHR3 .... (1) (in the formula, R1 and R2 are each alkyl groups, R3 is a hydrogen atom or alkyl group, and the total number of carbon atoms in R1, R2, and R3 is 2-20.) with sulfur in the presence of hydrogen sulfide; and a second step for decreasing the number of sulfur atoms in the crude dialkyl polysulfide (A) by reacting the crude dialkyl polysulfide (A) and a sulfide of an alkali metal in a solvent containing an alcohol.
