Abstract:
A method for producing diphenyl carbonate, comprising a first purification step, in which a diphenyl-carbonate-containing reaction mixture obtained by a specific step is continuously introduced into a high-boiling-point-substance separation tower A to continuously separate the mixture by distillation into a top fraction (AT) containing diphenyl carbonate and a bottoms fraction (AB) containing a catalyst, a specific second purification step, and two specific circulation steps, wherein in the bottoms fraction (AB) from the high-boiling-point-substance separation tower A, the mass concentration ratio of diphenyl carbonate to high-boiling-point substances, DPC/HB, is 0.1-1.0 and the mass concentration ratio of the diphenyl carbonate to the catalyst, DPC/catalyst, is 1.0-10.0.
