Abstract:

　Provided is a method for producing flake graphite, with which it is possible to produce graphite that is relatively easy to handle, by flaking graphite without having to employ complex processes. Also provided is flake graphite obtained using this method.　This method for producing flake graphite comprises a step in which a composition containing graphite or primary flake graphite and a polymer, and having the polymer immobilized on the graphite or primary flake graphite, is prepared; and a step in which by subjecting the polymer in the composition to thermal decomposition, the graphite or primary flake graphite is flaked, and said polymer is removed by thermal decomposition.
