Abstract:
A method of producing glass panels comprising the steps of joining the peripheral edges of a pair of plate glasses (1A, 1B) by a sealing material, with their plate surfaces opposed to each other with a spacing there between, to form a peripherally closed gap between the opposed plate surfaces (4A, 4B) of the two plate glasses, effecting a baking treatment for evacuation of the gap while heating the pair of plate glasses joined together at their peripheral edges, and keeping the gap in a pressure reduced state, wherein before the pair of plate glasses are opposed to each other, they are heat-treated, and then joining together the peripheral edges of the pair of plate glasses (1A, 1B) by a sealing material to form a gap.
