Abstract:
The present invention enables the achievement of a high-strength hot dipped galvanized steel sheet which has excellent plating appearance even in cases where a steel strip that contains Mn in a predetermined amount or more relative to Si is subjected to hot dip galvanization. A method for producing a hot dipped galvanized steel sheet, said method using a continuous hot dip galvanization apparatus, while comprising a step wherein a steel strip is annealed by being conveyed within an annealing furnace and a step wherein a hot dipped galvanized steel sheet is obtained by subjecting the steel strip, which has been discharged from the cooling zone, to hot dip galvanization with use of a hot dip galvanization facility. The steel strip has a component composition that contains, in mass%, from 1.7% to 3.5% of Mn and from 0.2% to 1.05% of Si, while satisfying (Si)/(Mn) ≤ 0.30; and the component composition, the dew point of the atmosphere within the soaking zone, and the outlet side temperature of the heating zone satisfy formula (1).
