Title:
METHOD OF PRODUCING HYDROGEN GAS BY USING HYDROGEN BACTERIA
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2003/052112
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Hydrogen bacteria and methane bacteria both inhabit in organic wastes and wastewater. In case of using such an organic waste or wastewater containing these bacteria as a substrate in culture, hydrogen produced by the hydrogen bacteria is consumed by the methane bacteria. A biota is heated in order to reduce the hydrogen−metabolizing bacteria while maintaining the activity of the hydrogen−producing sporulation bacteria. Namely, a method of producing hydrogen gas by effectively using hydrogen bacteria wherein heating is carried out at 68 to 95°C and the treating time and pH value are controlled.
