Abstract:
This method for producing indene is provided with a dehydrogenation step in which a raw material composition containing indane is brought into contact with a dehydrogenation catalyst to obtain a reaction product containing indene, wherein the dehydrogenation catalyst contains an aluminum-containing carrier, and a Group 14 metal element and platinum which are carried on the carrier, the platinum content in the dehydrogenation catalyst is 0.6-2.5 mass% with respect to the total amount of the dehydrogenation catalyst, and the atomic ratio of the Group 14 metal element to the platinum in the dehydrogenation catalyst is 4.0-20.0.
