Abstract:
When a polyoxyalkylene alkyl ether is produced by adding propylene oxide to a linear alcohol in the presence of an alkaline catalyst, the ratio of the alkaline catalyst and the ratio of propylene oxide relative to 1 mole of active hydrogen of the linear alcohol are respectively set within specific ranges. In addition, the temperature of the addition reaction between the linear alcohol and propylene oxide is set within a specific range.
