Title:
METHOD FOR PRODUCING TERMINAL-MODIFIED POLYMER
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/132899
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention produces a terminal-modified polymer by performing a polymerization reaction of a vinyl aromatic monomer and/or a conjugated diene monomer while in the presence of an anionic polymerization initiator, and thereafter, stopping the polymerization reaction by adding an alkoxy titanium compound thereto. Alternatively, it is possible to produce a terminal-modified polymer by stopping the polymerization reaction by adding a titanium halide compound instead of the alkoxy titanium compound, and thereafter, adding a C1-4 lower alcohol. The obtained terminal-modified polymer exhibits improved silica dispersion properties and is usable as a compounding agent for a rubber composition to be used in the pneumatic tire of a vehicle.
