Abstract:
A method for reinforcing an asphalt applied concrete structure comprising the steps of laying a reinforcing fiber sheet (20) on an upper surface (6) of a concrete floor slab (2) of a road bridge from which asphalt is removed and allowing resin (13) impregnated therein to set so as to form a fiber reinforced composite material, thereafter applying an adhesive (22) on a reinforcing material (21) comprising the composite material, then spreading sand (23) so as to form raised and recessed portions on an upper surface of the reinforcing material (21), applying an asphalt primer (24) of a solvent system over the sand (23) after the adhesive (22) has set, and whereafter applying again asphalt (7) thereon for completion of the reinforcing work.
