Title:
METHOD FOR REMOVING FOREIGN MATTER ON SURFACE OF GLASS SUBSTRATE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2004/069760
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A method for removing a tin defect present on the surface of a glass substrate produced by a floating method in a short time regardless of the temperature of the glass substrate without damaging the surface of the glass substrate. A method for removing foreign matter containing tin from the surface of a glass substrate is characterized in that a pulse laser beam is applied to the front surface of a glass substrate produced by a floating method, the pulse laser beam satisfies a specific relation between the pulse width, wavelength, and energy density per unit area of the glass substrate and is transmitted through the glass substrate with a transmittance of 70% to the laser beam, and the foreign matter present on the back of the glass substrate is removed.
