A method for removing a sulfur-containing compound according to the present invention is characterized by involving a step of bringing a crude hydrocarbon that comprises at least one sulfur-containing compound selected from the group consisting of carbon disulfide and mercaptan compounds into contact with an amide compound and a nitrite salt.
